Milk Producers’ Awareness of Milk-Borne Zoonoses In Baghabarighat Milk Shed Areas of Bangladesh

The present study was undertaken to assess the farmers’ knowledge and awareness of milkborne zoonoses in Bhaghabarighat Milk Shed Areas Bangladesh. A cross-sectional carried out randomly selected 270 dairy farmers Pabna Sirajgonj district. pretested structured questionnaire used collect information from respondents regarding different aspects milk-borne zoonosis. Data were collected farmers, with inclusion criteria having at least 2 cows farming experience more than 6 months. showed that almost 80% unable name any zoonotic disease, whereas rest had a little bit about those relatively educated experienced farmers. About 23% no fact raw milk can be potential source disease transmission. majority (99%) did not receive formal training diseases. Among respondents’ levels 4.5%, 9.2%, 17.4%, 54.84% 82.1% for brucellosis, anthrax, tuberculosis, mastitis diarrhea, respectively. behavioral practices observed increase risk transmission were: consumption (13%), lack cooling system (100%), routine testing, none medical check-up. 87% preferred use boiled milk. overall inadequate. In conclusion, programs milking hygiene handling improve control reduce public health zoonoses.
